Acquisition
During the Path of the Thief, a statue of Clavicus Vile, with a sword called Umbra, will be in an alcove. Activating the sword will teleport you to a plane of Oblivion that resembles an arena. After defeating the two enemies in the arena, go up to the forge. Umbra is in the forge. When you take Umbra, a portal back to the statue will open.
