Please do not edit existing pages. I see a lot of info that is still being changed, such as the origin of items and the locations. You shouldn't copy/paste the templates onto existing pages without adapting it to the info that is already on the page. Existing pages don't need "CELL NAME 2" and so on, and should not have their location pics renamed. I am sorry, but this is a warning that I will have to ban you if you keep doing it, as the pages that are already there are being messed up by this. It is difficult to go through all edits and check that all information is carried over as it should be, so please stick to adding new pages if you find it difficult to edit existing pages without carrying over all information. Thank you.
Indeed, the new pages are great and your help with them is very appreciated. I'll see if I can add links for all new pages so that you only need to click on the red link to create the book page (will save some time).
There are dozens of pages missing in the Library_1st_Floor.
All those book series, the named ones etc. most are empty and don't even have the links.
So first part would be grab DocDoBig's for books and make the book pages. Double check their origin, skyrim, dawnguard, dragonborn against the skyrim wikia or http://en.uesp.net/wiki. (make sure to correct the subtype entry, that one automatically adds categories)
If they are not from the base game then all books in that gallery should have been added through legacy.
If they are from the base game grab what info you can to fill them out (overall the http://en.uesp.net/wiki seems to be correcter on their information about books)
I wanted to write you a message but Ice got to it first. I just wanted to remind you that you should be careful when editing pages that already have info on them, and make sure to carry over all info :) I am not sure how the location pages should look, so I don't know if their layout should look different, but I noticed a lot of pages where == Location == wasn't added over === CELL NAME ===. Just a friendly reminder to remember it :)
DocDoBig is working on the Seashells and he has his own template for them, so they don't need editing at the moment.
Regarding the missing picture category, it can be removed in the source editor.
yes heres the template for seashells: http://pastebin.com/2bt1CaGf but dont go and copy paste it into the old pages, it's not finished and I need to make a guide for them first
other than that, we really could need help regarding actual *information* on things rather than copy pasting pages, I mean everybody can do that but adding individual information is another thing which can really help the wiki
also add a __"NOTOC"__ (without the quotes) on top of pretty much every page, it's for removing the Table Of Contents which clutter up a page unnecessarily
Hi there. I am glad you are so eager to help, but please don't edit things without checking why they are there first. If you want to help with the creature and npc pages, you should check in with DocDoBig and Sanamia first, and get an idea of how the pages should look.
Heya coot, welcome to the wiki. I made some [template pages] on pastebin for how certain page groups should look like so everything is clean for next editors and for readers, you can see those as kind of norm for pages
NPC's like Rakis or Umbra (NPC) are good examples, most NPC's lack dialogue because it's quite an act to find it out with CK so I just put a placeholder for it to edit later. If you are fond with CK and know how to use it I can certainly need help with that.
Items like the Unique Treasures of Skyrim and Gemstones are good and clean examples for items if you need a reference for Items, those don't really require edits anymore.
I need help with [Locations pages], a lot are missing information and I didn't want to spoil myself from just coc'ing into them before playing the quest for it, Sargruunde is a good example for location pages
uhh you're just copy pasting those templates on the pages instead of adding any addtional information which are needed, what's the point? later someone will have to edit those pages anyway to add those information
Yes totally, what editor do you use? I think all of us here agree that the classic/source editor is superior to the Visual one so I encourage you to use it as well if you didn't before, I haven't figured out how to remove categories with them though:
go to the page > dropdown arrow beside the edit button > VisualEditor > Dropdown arrow on the three lines above each other > Categories > click on a category and remove it with the trash bin > Apply Changes
