Legacy of the Dragonborn

Characteristics

The former owner of the building, Macnarian Hall, which is now houses The Dragonborn Gallery.

In life, he and his wife Orellia were wealthy philanthropists who were well known for commissioning a series of temples dedicated to the Nine Divines across Tamriel. He chose Solitude to house the Temple dedicated to Talos, the patron of the Nords, before the temple of the Divines was established in the city. The temple was eventually forced to close due to the White Gold Concord.

Tragically his wife died in a fire at their estate. Niles received word of it shortly before the temple was finished and he commissioned a statue in her memory. Shortly thereafter he got drunk and plunged to his death from the cliffs behind the museum, either by accident or suicide.

His ghost is responsible for the events of Night at the Museum, and leaves clues to guide the Dragonborn towards resolving the haunting. After Night at the Museum is completed, their spirits are reunited and their ghosts will wander the Dragonborn Gallery at night together, examining the displays like other guests in the day time.
