Started by reading Torturer's Notes in Fort Dawnguard, on top of a barrel in the torture room. It lets a player who sided with the Dawnguard recover the Ancient Vampire artifacts.
After all five artifacts have been recovered, they are then destroyed at the giant brazier on top of Stendarr's Beacon to complete the quest.
Replicas of the vampire artifacts can then be made to put on display.
